“Where the Eagles Fly!”

Newark, Ohio- On Tuesday, November 10, 2015, Legend Elementary School welcomes back Grammy nominee and singer-songwriter Celeste Reichert Friedman for a concert to honor Veteran’s Day 2015. Celeste is also a native of Newark, Ohio.

Festivities begin at 9:00 am. Mrs. Ellen Cooper, Principal will welcome guests. Our Honorable Mayor Jeff Hall of Newark will lead the “Pledge of Allegiance”. Legend students will sing the “National Anthem” and a local color guard unit will post the colors. Licking County veterans will also be honored during the opening ceremonies.

The concert begins at 9:15am with Celeste, featuring patriotic songs and including her originals, “The Son of A Soldier” and “There’s A Knock on the Door”. The Legend Elementary Eagles Choir will also join Celeste to sing their new official school song, “Where the Eagles Fly!”, written and produced by Friedman. Following the choir’s performance, a flag folding ceremony will be conducted and the American flag will be presented to Licking County Veteran, Charles D. Cameron, who served in Vietnam in the U. S. Air Force.

On display in the Legend school lobby will be a small table covered with a white cloth, honoring a soldier’s pure heart when he answers his country’s call to duty. An empty chair will be placed at the table for the missing soldiers no longer with us. More about “America’s White Table” at:
